Owners on permits, schedules and coming back
A store owner
“We hired Polo International to put a new silicone roof on our newest commercial building, and they did a great job. The roof looks great, and he also helped the permit process along as well.”
On schedule
“Not only did they deliver high-quality work, but they also completed our project ahead of schedule.”
More than one property
“Polo International has done several roofs for my properties. We started with 4 and ended up doing a lot more.”
Permits and timing
“Outstanding on time performance. Polo did what they said they were going to do and, did it on time… All work permitted and done in a professional workmanship like fashion.”
Certified installer for
Can we stay open while you work on the roof?
In most cases, yes. The work happens on the roof. When the old roof is sound, a silicone coating or spray foam goes right over it, so there’s no tear-off above your sales floor. We set the schedule with you before work starts.
Is a commercial roof expensive?
It depends on the roof’s size, what’s up there now, and whether it gets a coating, foam over it or a tear-off. We look at the roof first, then send a written quote with the price before any work starts. One owner called our pricing “extremely competitive.”
What type of roof is best for a commercial building?
For flat and low-slope roofs, we install two systems: silicone coatings over a sound roof, and spray foam roofs, which can also go over metal. Which one fits depends on what’s up there now. We tell you after we look at it.
What is Florida’s 25% roof rule?
When more than 25% of a roof is repaired, replaced or re-covered within 12 months, the whole roof has to meet the current building code, with an exception for newer roofs. Here’s how Florida’s 25% roof rule works, from the code and the statute.
Who handles the permits?
We do. We apply for them once the contract is signed and see the job through to the final inspection. One store owner wrote that we “helped the permit process along as well.”
Do you work on hotels and resorts?
Yes. Our list includes the Galleon Resort in Key West, a Marriott in Houston and the Pompano Beach Yacht Club. On a hotel, the work stays on the roof, and we plan the schedule with your manager.
Do you work outside Florida?
Yes. We’re headquartered in Fort Lauderdale and serve the United States and the Caribbean. Our store and hotel jobs include St. Charles, Missouri, and Austin and Houston, Texas. Tell us where your building is when you ask for a quote.
